Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC of Ilorin on Saturday beat visiting Adamawa United FC 2-0 to return to winning ways in the 2018/2019 abridged Nigeria National League.
The match was played at the Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
The home team dominated most proceedings but had little to show for it until almost the half hour mark. The homers showed early intent in the 2nd minute when Charles Eguavon was released by Alao Danbani but the midfielder’s shot was parried to corner.
Danbani put the homers ahead in the 33rd minute when he poked home a rebound shot at close range.
The home team continued its dominance of the game in the first half but was not rewarded with another goal.
The team dominance paid off once again in the 80th minute when Eguavon doubled the lead for the host.
Elemike who had a wonderful game with a man of the match performance released the midfielder in a crowded Adamawa box before beating Yusuf for the goal.
One of the highlights of the match was the introduction of another youngster by ABS FC in Lasoju Salman for his league and senior team debut in 88th minute and had some mesmerising display before the end of the game.
ABS Technical Adviser, Abubakar Hassan said he was delighted with the performance of his boys because they responded well after a disappointing draw against Mighty Jets of Jos in Ilorin on Wednesday, the match ended one goal apiece.
“We must keep working hard in training to grind out results, we are aware of the enormous task before us, so, we must work hard to achieve our aims.
“We are going to Aklosendi International on Saturday, preparations towards that, starts on Monday again” Hassan said.
