Abdullahi congratulates Saraki on acquittal, says Nigerians should brace up for a more productive Senate

Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has congratulated the Senate President, H.E Dr Bukola Saraki on being acquitted by the Supreme Court on false asset declaration charge.

Mallam Abdullahi said he was not surprised by the decision of the apex court as he was sure that Dr Saraki was innocent of the charges all along and that the court’s decision is an affirmation of what anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of the law had known all along.

A very elated Abdullahi said: ‘’we share this joy with millions of ‘Sarakites’ across the country. We thank the Almighty Allah, who is the God of justice. We thank all the people who stood by our Leader all through the long period of trial. We commend the judiciary for the courage to be impartial. They have sent a strong message that justice and politics should not be mixed.”

He added that this was the second time Dr Saraki would be cleared of the charges as the CCT also arrived at that decision after a comprehensive trial lasting several months.

‘’I was very confident that Dr Saraki was innocent and it was just a matter of time before the court would set him free. I am excited that, that has finally happened and justice has been fully served on the matter

‘’With his acquittal, the Senate President can now fully concentrate on leading the National Assembly to deliver more legislative benefits to Nigerians. Even with the court cases, Dr Saraki has led the most productive Senate ever, with more motions and bills passed than any other Senate in the history of Nigeria,’’ Abdullahi said
