Naira Marley may face 7yrs imprisonment, trial resumes next month

Nigerian controversial singer, Naira Marley was released on the 14th
of June, 2019, exactly 14 days after he was granted bail by the Ikoyi
High court, after he was being arrested by the EFCC alongside Zlatan
and three other guys in connection with cyber crime.
The trial however resumes in a month’s time as the artiste needs to
answer to all charges levelled against him by the anti graft agency.
Remember that EFCC had levelled an 11-count charge against Naira
Marley; the alleged crimes were in contravention of the money
laundering (Prohibition) Act and the Cyber Crimes Act, and the artiste
risks seven years in jail if he is found guilty.
The charges with suit number FHC/L/178C/19 were filed before a Lagos
State High Court, ten days after his arrest. Naira Marley was
arraigned before Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court,
Ikoyi, Lagos.
