INEC List: Balogun-Fulani’s faction accuses Oshiomhole of causing confusion in Kwara

Days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released list of the gubernatorial candidates in Kwara State for the 2019 election, a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has accused the party’s national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of causing confusion in the state.
INEC, through the list submitted by the national executive of the APC, affirmed the name of oil magnate and billionaire businessman, AbdurRahman AbdulRazaq as the governorship candidate of the party for the 2019 election in Kwara State.
AbdulRazaq is a member of the Basheer Bolarinwa-led faction of the APC in the state.
The Balogun-Fulani faction has however dragged them to court and secured a High Court injunction restraining the Bolarinwa faction from parading itself as the authentic executive of the party.
But speaking on the issue last night with this reporter, the state secretary of the Balogun-Fulani led faction, Christopher Ayeni said the case is still in court and they will fight it till the end to get justice.
According to him, the latest development is an attempt to work against court injunction secured by the party adding that anything that is been done now while the judgment of the court subsists is not only null and void but an exercise in futility.
He further accused the embattled chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole of deliberately causing confusion in the state chapter of the party.
“They (APC) are working against the court injunction and as far as we are concerned, anything they are doing is null and void according to the law.
“We are still in court and we will fight to the end to get justice, the law is clear about who is the authentic candidate of our party. We are not taking it with a pinch of salt. Oshiomhole cannot just come and cause confusion in Kwara State, he lacks such powers”, he added.
Since the conduct of the party’s primaries, the APC has been involved in a protracted crisis.
The intervention of the leader of the party, President Muhammadu Buhari did little to appease aggrieved members who seriously frowned about the handling of the primaries by the party.
Despite Oshiomhole’s letter of apology to two of the gubernatorial aspirants, Moshood Mustapha and Saliu Mustapha, over their unlawful disqualification, Professor Shuaib AbdulRaheem Oba has reportedly remained adamant and maintained that he must reclaim his stolen mandate.
The Kwara State High Court, Ilorin judicial division had directed the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, to henceforth work with the Alhaji Ishola Balogun Fulani – led State Executive Committee (SEC) of the party in Kwara State.
In a correspondence received by the National Chairman of APC, through the National Legal Adviser of the party, Oshiomhole was directed to henceforth direct all correspondences, information, official assignments and responsibilities of the APC, Kwara State chapter through the party office at No 29, Agba Road, G.R.A. Ilorin, Kwara State in obedience to the interim order granted by Honorable Justice T. S. Umar.
In the correspondence, Oshiomole was further warned to be well guided in not doing acts capable of supporting, assisting and/or aiding any form of disrespect or disobedience to lawful order of court.
The correspondence specifically indicated the possibility of commencement of contempt proceedings against Oshiomhole if he fails to obey the court order.
