The frontline monarch who expressed his surprise on the governor’s visit said he had assured the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki of his support and that of his people the last time the former Kwara governor visited his palace.

He added: “As I have told my people we shall try as much as possible to go for the PDP. All my people know where I’m going. I will send my emissaries to the hinterland on our position regarding the elections. We are in Kwara, we must go with Kwara. We are in government we must go with the government.

“Those our boys with you have done very well. Those that are coming will do well also. We shall work for you and God will help us. I assured the Senate President when he came here that we are for him. So, I’m surprised by this visit.”

Earlier, the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, had stressed the need for the people of the state to vote for PDP in the coming elections.

He expressed confidence that the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar will emerge victorious in the poll, adding that Kwara must not be left behind as the PDP will form government at the centre.

Ahmed, who explained the zoning of governorship seat to Kwara central by his party, reassured Etsu Pategi that “the governorship seat shall come to Kwara North in 2023.”

He asked Nigerians to change the present narrative of insecurity, economic challenges and hunger by voting for Atiku on Saturday.

“Atiku is needed to take us out of religious and ethnicity differences and more importantly the security challenges across the country. Come Saturday, PDP will come out victorious and Nigeria and indeed Kwara will enjoy better future for voting Atiku,” he declared.
