The Kwara State House of Assembly says it will provide enabling environment for small, medium and large scale industries to thrive in the state.
The House Leader, Hon Abubakar Olawoyin Mogaji gave the indication in Ilorin at the weekend during courtesy calls on the managements of industries located in Ilorin Central Constituency.
Hon Mogaji, who is representing Ilorin Central Constituency, explained that the need became expedient in view of the urgent need by the new government to urgently address security challenges occasioned by increasing rate of youth joblessness.
He disclosed that “the legislature would intervene through legislation, government patronage and other incentives to promote investment drive” and enjoined the affected industries to reciprocate by rising up to their corporate social responsibilities through provision of infrastructure and job opportunities for their host community to galvanise social-economic growth of the state.
Hon Magaji, however, commended the managements of the affected industries for chosing Kwara state and his constituency to site their industries and assured that the issue of double taxation, low government patronage and high cost of production would be looked into by the state government to insulate them from factors capable of chasing them out of business in the state”.
Earlier, the managements of the affected industries praised the initiative of the parliamentarian, stressing that the visit had created sense of belonging for them and appealed to the state government to wade into the challenges threatening their existence in the state.
The industries visited by the House leader were Tuyil Pharmaceutical Company, Anchor Pharmaceutical industry, Bio medical company and United Foam industry, Forgo Battery Company and Seven up Bottling Company.
