KWSG receives report on Bishop Smith Memorial College religious crisis

 

The Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi has called on the people of the State to support and cooperate with the government in its determination to improve and make life easy for the citizenry.
Alabi made the call on Wednesday in Ilorin while receiving the report of the Committee set up by the government to look into the religious crisis that rocked Bishop Smith Memorial College.
The Deputy Governor implored the people not to allow divisive tendency or religion to divide them, calling on the people to see themselves as one united family.
He charged the people to pray for the government as it is determined to fix the state and make it a force to be reckoned with in the country.
He assured that the report would be studied and necessary steps would be taken to forestall crisis in whatever form.
The Deputy Governor thanked members of the Committee for their commitment and for a job well done.
The Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Oniye thanked the government and members for their support, adding that the crisis started during the time of the last administration.
Alhaji Oniye who is the first Makama of Ilorin commended the present administration for their prompt action in settling the crisis.
He urged the government to urgently look into the report and do the needful.
Other members of the Committee that spoke at the event commended the government for its effort so far and charged it to develop the political will to implement its recommendations for the benefit of the people.
