2019: Gbemi moves to revive structures ahead alleged senatorial ambition

Fresh indications emerged last night that one-time gubernatorial candidate under the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) in Kwara State, Senator Gbemisola Saraki may contest the 2019 senatorial race in the state for the Kwara Central ticket.
To this end, the younger sister of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki has allegedly began moves to revive her structures which had hitherto been collapsed, in preparation for the election.
Many of her loyalists across political groups had withdrew their membership of her structures and complained of abandonment due to her long absence from the state.
She recently hinted on the revival of her political groups in a recent facebook post when she declared support for All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Buhari.
Gbemi’s alleged interest in the senatorial ticket for Kwara central dominated discourse in the political space in the state last night with top government officials and some members of her structure confirming the development to National Pilot.
Some of those she has allegedly reached out to on the “new project”, it was gathered last night, included the chairman of Kwara Saw Millers Association, Alhaji Gani Na’Allah Pako from Alanamu, one Barrister Wahab Adesina from Magaji Ngeri, Olawoyin Abubakar also from Magaji Ngeri, her staunch ally, Abdulrasaq Bamu and one Obadagbegbe from Asa whose other name could not be confirmed last night.
Although speculation has been rife that she was initially weighing options on whether to run for governor and under which platform, the recent defection of Saraki to the opposition PDP allegedly bolstered her decision to contest the seat.
