Disu emerges PDP candidates in Irepodun

A former councillor of Ajase Ward 1 in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hon Shehu Gbenga Aliu Disu has emerged the candidate of the party for the forthcoming council election.
Disu who has also served as a former Supervisor for Works in Irepodun emerged the party’s candidate in the council after his main challenger; Hon Emmanuel Lanre Oyeniyi pulled out from the primary election which held at the party’s secretariat, Irepodun on Thursday.
His choice has since received wide endorsement from leaders of the party across the state including former chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Hajia Sarat Adebayo.
Reacting to the victory through a statement, Disu, a former unionist appreciated the people of his constituency; the party and his opponent for giving him the ticket in a platter of gold adding that he would ensure they never regret the action.
According to him, he will strive to provide good governance through various people oriented programmes if elected as chairman of the council.
“On behalf of my family, friends and associates, I want to specially thank all the good people of Irepodun, my party; elders, youth, women and all well wishers. I am very grateful for the privilege and consideration to fly the party’s flag in the coming council election.
“I must commend my brother, friend and confidant, Hon Emmanuel Lanre Oyeniyi, who out of his own will offered me the ticket free of charge. I cannot express my appreciation with words only but I’m sure that God willing our success is assured and he will have cause to glorify God. I am indeed grateful and promised he will never live to regret this. I thank you so much and promised to give my best in service to Irepodun Local Government by promoting good governance through our various programmes of action that we have clearly mapped out. This is a promise that must be kept”…, he submitted.
Born in March 1st, 1970 to the family of Aliu Disu and Alhaja Halimat Disu, both of blessed memory, Hon. Shehu Disu attended Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin for his Higher National Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Project Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Management including attending numerous management courses and seminars.
He ventured into politics in 2007 and was elected councillor, Ajase Ward I in Irepodun between 2007– 2010 and Supervisor for Works Irepodun between 2013 – 2016.
