An Appeal Court, sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, will on Monday begin the hearing of the appeal filed by the Bashiru Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB)-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the Ishola Balogun-Fulani-led executive of the party.
The presiding Judge, Justice Saulawa after hearing the interlocutory objection filed by the appellant and National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, BOB and others, reserved judgement till Monday.
The court also ordered the Balogun-Fulani’s-led counsel, Barr. Yusuf Ali SAN to file all his reactions to the appellant.
Recall that last year, the Kwara State High Court handed down a judgement in a suit involving the two factions.
Justice Taoheed Umar, who delivered the judgement upheld the Balogun-Fulani led faction of the party as the APC in Kwara State.
The judgement held that the purported dissolution of the executive committee of the APC-led by Balogun-Fulani was illegal, null and void.
The court further ruled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should recognise the list of the members of the executive committee presented by the Balogun-Fulani faction.
Sequel to this development, the BOB faction through their counsel, Barr. Salman Jawondo approached the court of Appeal for redress.
At the last adjourned date on Monday, the newly employed legal representative for the BOB faction, Chief Akin Olujimi SAN, informed the court to set aside the judgement of the state High Court.
He also urged the court to recognise the executive constituted by the National body of the party.
