Kwara MMPN presents food items, toiletries to inmates

Members of the Muslims Media Practitioners of Nigeria, Kwara State chapter on Saturday presented food items and toiletries worth thousands of naira to inmates of Ilorin Custodial Centre.
The programme was part of annual Ramadan activities of the organization.
Some of items presented in Ilorin included, toothbrush and toothpaste, detergent soaps, bath soaps, packs of spaghetti, bags of rice, body cream among others.
Speaking during the presentation, the state Coordinator of MMPN, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Yusuf said the gesture was part of annual Ramadan activities of the organization.
He said that the programme was to make the inmates feel sense of belonging so that they would come out as better citizens.
Yusuf appreciated members of the organization for contributing in cash and kind to ensure the success of the programme.
While calling on other philanthropists to support the gesture, the Coordinator assured that the MMPN would continue to contribute to the welfare of the needy and the less privileged in the society.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Ramadan Committee, Abdulrosheed Okiki said that the response of members of MMPN in terms of contribution in cash and kind was very encouraging and prayed God to reward them in multiple.
He advised officers in charge of Custodial centre to make judicious use of the items to ensure comfortability of the inmates with a view to reforming their lives.
Elderly members of the MMPN including Alhaji Muhammad Tunde Akanbi, Hajia Balikis Oladimeji and Alhaji Abdullahi Olesin were among the team that presented the items to officers of the Custodial centre led by the Welfare Officer, Mr Saliu Arowona.
