Truck kills commercial motorcyclist in Ilorin

An unidentified commercial motorcyclist with number plate, FKJ 455 QH, was yesterday hit and killed by a truck at Emirs /Niger Road junction.
The incident happened around 2:10 pm as the middle-aged motorcyclist, who belong to Omoda zone died on the spot while his passenger sustained serious injuries and a broken leg.
The truck driver was said to have escaped after he committed the crime but was subsequently chased by eyewitnesses and apprehended at Gambari/Sobi Junction. He was then taken to ‘C Division, Oja-Oba.
According to some of the colleagues of the deceased, his wife, a few weeks ago, delivered a set of twins.
When our reporter visited the scene of the accident, around 3:pm, family members had evacuated the lifeless body of the commercial motorcyclist.
Efforts to get the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi to react to the incident as calls to his mobile phone and text messages sent were not responded to.
