Gunmen abduct three worshippers in Ogun, demand N6m ransom

Unknown gunmen have invaded the Cherubim and Seraphim Church along Railway station in Obada-Oko in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, kidnapping three worshippers.
They were also demanding a sum of N6 million for their ransom
The victims are: Alani-Bello, Adebare Oduntan and Mary Oliyide
They were said to have been abducted while holding a vigil in the early hours of Sunday at the church, Ona-Ara Parish.
A source said that their abductors were demanding a sum of N 6million for their ransom before they were released.
“The incident took place at Cherubim & Seraphim Church, Ona-Ara, Oju-Irin in Obada Oko in the early hours of today (Sunday) during a night vigil held by the church”. The source added
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Oyeyemi said that the state command anti-kidnapping unit has been deployed to the area to partner with the Obada Oko Division of the police to rescue the victims
The Police PRO noted that the police had warned members of the public from holding vigil and religious activities in areas considered to be isolated.
He added that if at all such places of worship want to have programmes, they should inform the police so that police patrol could be extended to such areas and adequate security provided.
