2023 Guber: Kwara North Torchbearers holds town hall meeting
…charges Saraki to decide governorship candidate for the party

The Kwara North Torchbearers has charged the People’s Democratic Party, PDP National Leader, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki to take charge and select a credible governorship candidate irrespective of the senatorial district of the aspirant in the 2023 general elections.
Kwara North Torchbearers chairman, Adam Isiaku Guyegi said this on Saturday at the town hall meeting held in Tsaragi, Edu local government area of the state on the progressive interest of Kwara North.
Guyegi noted that the discussion is to dissect the Kwara North Polity, with a critical look at the challenges, causative, and way out of the myriads against the actualization of the collective aspirations of the people in the senatorial district.
“It is no gainsaying the fact that Kwara North is lagging in terms of all socioeconomic developmental indices”
“Isn’t it preposterous that since the creation of Kwara State in 1967 till date, we’ve always had some few cliques in the absolute minority always negotiating and exploiting the people’s aspirations to further their nest, that has been the tactics whenever the electioneering period is fast approaching”, he said?
Guyegi, reiterated the need for Saraki to get fully involved in the nomination of reliable candidates who can deliver Kwara North from getting sidelined in the political dividends of the state, adding that Kwara North is blessed with human and natural resources.
Speaking with journalists, Seriki Musa, former P.A political (Kwara North) to the former Governor of Kwara State, AbdulFatah Ahmed, said the call has become necessary for Saraki to look from within a capacity subject with a good and remarkable reputation who can man the affairs of the state without sidelining any districts.
The town hall meeting tagged: “Progressive Interest of Kwara North; A Paradigm Shift For Our Future” featured stakeholders, youth, and women across the five local government areas comprising Kwara North senatorial district.
