Kwara PDP congratulates Mrs Saraki on WHO appointment

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has congratulated wife of former Senate President and Founder-president of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, Her Excellency, Toyin Saraki on her appointment as the maiden Global Health Ambassador for World Health Organisation (WHO) Foundation.
WHO Foundation is an independent grant-making entity created by the World Health Organization in 2020 aimed at supporting the Organization’s efforts to address the most pressing global health challenges.
The foundation will also help in mobilizing new funding from diverse sources such as philanthropists, corporate entities and members of the public for the purpose of transforming the global health ecosystem.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Babatunde Mohammed, the PDP noted that it was not surprised to learn of Mrs Saraki’s latest global appointment because of her strong concern for and tireless commitment to improved maternal, newborn and child health and the need to end gender-based violence and discrimination in communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The party lauded Saraki for using her initiative, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, to advocate improved global health and impact positively in the lives of the people, particularly women and children, not only in Nigeria and beyond.
“Her Excellency, Toyin Saraki has no doubt distinguished herself in the service to humanity and continues to contribute to improved global health through her advocacy. We are proud of her and what she’s doing. We congratulate her on this new global appointment and wish her the very best,” the Kwara PDP Chairman said.
