Eradicating Illiteracy: National Library donates books to Kwara bostal institution

As part of the 2021 readership promotion campaign organised by the National library of Nigeria,kwara state,the institution on Wednesday donated books to Borstal Training Institution situated in Ganmo, Ilorin
The books numbering 58,were donated by the director of National library,kwara state branch, Mrs Olani Olabimpe Kafayat to boost the reading habit of the inmates.
According to the Director ,the instructional materials are on various subjects,past questions on JAMB,WAEC and literature text.
“This is to promote reading culture, academic performance and use of library among the students.
“The items donated comprises 58 titles across general reading, textbooks for JSS and SSS on different subjects.
“Functional literacy can only be achieved by making available reading materials and helping students find something’s wonderful to read.”
The Librarian of the institution Mrs Funmi Ojueyik that recieved the donations thanked the Head of National library,kwara state on behalf of the Comptroller who was out on a crucial assignment .
She warmly appreciated the National Librarian’s role in shaping and improving Nigeriansโ€™ reading index and assured of making the materials accessible at all times.
