Tunde Ashaolu’s death: A generational catastrophe!

By Dan’iyan Kaiama
The Kwara State People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Youth Leader and Chairman North Central PDP Youth Leaders’ Forum, Prince Haliru Dantsoho Mahmud *(Dan’iyan Kaiama)* has expressed with deep sense of sorrow and uncertainty, the demise of his colleague, the late State Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Tunde Ashaolu, who bidded the world farewell on Sunday, the 27th of February, 2022.
In his condolence message personally signed by him, he said “Ashaolu was not just a colleague who combined proactiveness, tact and professional dexterity in the discharge of his responsibilities as the State Public Relations Officer of our great party, but most importantly, a very close ally who I always consulted and confided in; a humble, reliable, dependable, honest, trustworthy and promising friend and brother from another father.
Words are not commensurate to express my grief at this trying period that I loss someone I cherished beyond expression.
In fact, I still perceive his death as a movie – happening a day after he was specially celebrated in an unprecedented manner by our Leader, the former Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki CON; family, friends and well wishers across the length and breath of Nigeria; both in physical gatherings and social media – only to receive the sad news the following day that Ashaolu is no more. Hmmmmmm!
“There is no doubt, from God we all come, and to Him we shall all return, but your sudden death is unprecedented such that, one would live with the shock and agony for a long time having recalled the scenarios that preceded your unnoticed departure”.
The State Youth Leader concluded that “I’m deeply wounded and indeed bereaved, but who are we to challenge the Almighty Allah for His actions and inactions? For He is the Alpha and Omega.
On behalf of my family, the North Central PDP Youth Leaders’ and the entire Kwara State PDP Youths, I pray that God forgives all your shortcomings; grants you eternal rest; give your family and those of us left behind, the fortitude to bear your irreparable loss, Amen.
*Our generation is indeed bereaved*
Good bye Asha Baba”
You remain my brother even in death
