Cabinet: Gov Abdulrasaq sends list of 20 commissioner nominees to state assembly as Ajakaiye, Jumoke Gafar’s names go viral

Kwara state governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on Thursday sent a list of 20 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for confirmation as members of his new cabinet.
The receipt of the list was confirmed by the state assembly in a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Sheu Abdulkadir Yusuf.
According to the statement, AbdulRazaq is also seeking approval for 10 Special Advisers “to work with the administration in various capacities. The Honourable House will diligently attend to His Excellency’s request in due course”.
In the meantime, a list of 16 commissioner nominees which the governor purportedly submitted for state assembly approval has gone viral in the social media. The list which contains names of governor’s Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye and his Principal Private Secretary, Jumoke Gafar was shared across WhatsApp platforms on Thursday evening. A top government source who spoke to National Pilot dismissed the list as fake.
According to him, ” The House said it received names of 20 commissioner nominees from the governor, where then did this 16-man list emanate from. It’s apparently the handwork of mischief makers. Anyway, until the Speaker of the House formally read out the list sent to the House by the governor, any list circulating right now should be disregarded “.
