Herder macheted colleague to death over alleged affair with wife

The magistrate court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital has remanded one herder, Likita Mohammadu over the alledged murder of one Yusuf Danladi Maishanu.
The police First Information Report (FIR) revealed that the case was transferred from Divisional Police Headquarters, Lade Kwara State Ilorin to the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
It revealed that Maishanu was matcheted on his left arm at Edogi Chapa ranch via Lade and was subsequently rushed to Lafiagi General Hospital where he gave up the ghost.
During the investigation, the accused person confessed to the crime saying he killed deceased in his sleep ‘because he was having illicit affairs with his wife, one Fona.
He was charged to court for the offences of culpable homicide contrary to section 221 of penal code law.
The Prosecutor, Adebayo Thomas informed the court that the offence allegedly committed by the accused person was capital in nature and that he should be remanded in prison custody.
Magistrate Folake Olokoyo remanded the accused while the case was adjourned to 7th May, 2019.
