2023 Guber : Ali Ahmad lauds Kwara Labour Party’s Basambo for adopting PDP’s Yaman

The Director General of the Kwara Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Professor Ali Ahmad has lauded the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Comrade Basambo Abubakar over his decision to combine efforts with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the state, describing him as “a patriotic Kwaran and true believer in the #RecoverKwara struggle.”

Ali who made this known in a press statement issued on Tuesday by his Media Assistant, Sulaiman Abdulwaheed Olamilekan affirmed that the LP gubernatorial candidate is a true son of the soil whose ambition was truly built on a core mandate aimed at birthing a prosperous Kwara devoid of bitter politics.

The former Federal lawmaker remarked that while other political actors in the state were following the trend of deep-pocket politics, Basambo jettisoned such politics, embraced developmental politics, and demonstrated the qualities worthy of a statesman.

“I salute Mallam Basambo’s decision to join hands with our great party, the PDP, to recover and deliver the state from the lackluster Gov AbdulRazaq-led ruling APC in combining efforts with our party’s standard-bearer, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi, the incoming governor of Kwara state Insha Allah. This singular gesture is a testament to the fact that Basambo is a true son of the soil, a patriotic Kwaran, and a true believer in the #RecoverKwara struggle.

“We have equally seen some political actors whose parochial interests were all hinged on deep-pocket defecting from one party to another. I can not but commend my brother, hero of our democracy in Kwara, the Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate for displaying statesmanship,” the statement reads.

He added that for the people to enjoy equitable distribution of wealth, they must vote massively for all the PDP candidates at the forthcoming gubernatorial and state assembly’s election in Kwara state.

“As the gubernatorial and State assemblies election comes in few days, Our party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has always in every forum warned Kwarans of the danger ahead if hoodwinked again by the lackluster APC government for another four years mandate. We have equally provided a better alternative to the people by bringing on board a true manager of resources who is ready to provide the true leadership needed to make Kwara a greater state.

“It is on this note that I call on conscientious Kwarans to come out en mass, peacefully, and vote massively for our gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi, the incoming governor of Kwara state Insha Allah, alongside all our 24 state house of assembly standard-bearers under the banner of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), across the various constituencies in the state on Saturday, March 18, 2023.”
