Man lynched for motorcycle theft in Ilorin

A middle aged man whose identity could not be ascertained was beaten to a pulp by angry mob for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Taiwo area of Ilorin, Kwara State, last Thursday.
It was learnt that the suspect was seen by residents of the area while he was trying to make away with the stolen motorcycle at about 9am on the fateful day.
According to eyewitness account, the people within the vicinity gave him a hot chase, caught up with him and beat him to a coma.
Policemen from the ‘B’ Divisional police station, Surulere, Ilorin were said to have rescued the suspected robber from the angry mob.
He was reportedly taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital by the police for treatment.
In a related development, a woman in her 40s, whose identity could not be ascertained was allegedly caught with a stolen goat at Galadima area of Airport in Ilorin.
The woman was nabbed by resident while trying to make away with the goat valued at N20,000.
According to a resident, who simply identified himself as Korede, the woman hid in a corner and begged children to help catch a goat and gave them salt to put in its mouth.
The children were said to have attracted people within the area and when queried on her action, she reportedly could not give satisfactory response.
It was gathered that she was taken to police station at Eiyenkorin, where she allegedly confessed to the crime.
