I dropped out of school to start business – Proprietor, Kayus Barbing Saloon
Mr. Taofiq Oyetunde, the Proprietor of Kayus Barbing Saloon has said his foray into the business world was not very smooth as he had to sacrifice his education.
He however described his career path as an act of destiny.
He said: “I had wanted to go to higher institution for further studies, after which I expected to get a white collar job, but as fate would have it, my dream was truncated by funding.
“My Dad could not afford to send me and my younger ones to school due to his financial status as he engaged in menial jobs. I also did menial job to raise the 20,000 naira, which was my start up capital for my barbing saloon business,” he added.
He said the starting point was very rough saying, “Looking back today, I can say I am fulfilled on the job. I have been able to go back to school and raised my younger ones too”.
Oyetunde, a National Diploma graduate of Marketing from the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin enjoined youths to allow destiny to guide them on their career path.
“The truth is that, often times as human beings we do wrestle and compete against destiny as we want to do things according to our wish, forgetting that there is a divine connection between self ability and destiny”.
