An Ilorin-based legal practitioner, Abiodun Dada who is aspiring for the position of House of Representative in the 2019 general elections has warned youths to desist from being used as political thugs.

Barr. Dada who doubles as the patron of Kwara Achievers Youth Forum made the call, yesterday, while commissioning the borehole he donated to the association at Taiwo Isale area of Ilorin.

According to him, no life should go down during any election, our youths should know that their lives are precious and this country needs them for a better tomorrow.

He also advised politicians not to abandon their constituencies saying such habit makes the electorate lose trust in them.

He said, “Our politicians should always visit their constituencies, when the electorate don’t see them, they believe they’ve been abandoned by the leaders they voted for.”

Dada, however noted that the quest to impact life positively motivated him into sinking the borehole.

“By the virtue of my age, I still have privilege to touch lives; it has always been in me to give back to the society. I have many projects I’m doing in my constituency, but water is important and government cannot do it alone.”

In his speech, the President of the Forum, Timothy Daramola appreciated the aspirant for the gesture even as he charged politicians to always give back to the society.

Daramola noted that the needs of the populace in the state cannot be addressed by government alone adding that both individuals and politicians should join force with the state government.
