Asiwi ko to asiso; so said the Yoruba, imagine the above phrases Inversions. Also known as anastrophe, inversion is the reversal of words or sentence order. Instead of saying ‘I went to school yesterday, but invert the order of the words in a few different way…’Yesterday to school went I’. From the end to the beginning, what is first becomes last and what is last becomes first, reverse order, a friend tweets as narrated. This and many more were some of the expressions by Nigerians over President Buhari Delta Show as tweeters user have tweeted.
‘Enu lasan ko ta Musu Ehonan’ failure simply means lying to yourself and others… this is one of people’s thoughts on the latest happenings, as is still unfolding in our polity. They did what they thought was right, but what they thought was right was never right, forgetting that every winter that ever came has ended. Being the oldest among other presidential candidates, many feel it would have been better to allow nature to take its cause by putting not too much in a 76-year-old man’s plate. With all the obvious health challenges, pushing too hard may be counterproductive if care is not taken.
Temple is made of stones, once one stone crumbles another takes its place. Temple must continue to hold its place. A wise man once said, there is something to be learnt from every event, little wonder many Nigerians want to know what to do or what is expected of every citizen when the president misfired in public space; politics or not, office of the president should not be ridicule at anytime, but it is very clear to all that some ‘Arijenimadaru’ are benefiting from all the recent happenings, making the matter worst even for the president himself. After seeing what desire had done to this nation, how best can you explain this to our children and coming generations?
“I am handing over this flag of honour to our presidential candidate”, a presidential candidate calling a gubernatorial candidate presidential candidate is no good for joke, I must confess. President Muhammadu Buhari shocked supporters and viewers of his presidential campaign in Warri, Delta state, as he mistakenly called the All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate, Great Ogboru, the party’s presidential candidate. Buhari, who repeatedly called Ogboru, the party’s presidential and senatorial candidate was corrected by APC chieftains who flanked him while handing the party’s flag to Ogboru. Despite all corrections, he kept responding with “to our senatorial candidate” and again saying “gubernatorial” and thereafter, Buhari then settled for “governortorial candidate”…laughable, many tweeted with unimaginable comments…Oh my goodness!
‘Let president speak for himself’, Kadaria told Vice President Yemi Osinbajo during the town-hall debate that was moderated by Kadaria Ahmed and broadcasted live on NTA, though, many believed it was stage-managed to favour APC and of course Buhari.
As if that was not enough, President Buhari almost slumped at the Kaduna rally for his 2019 re-election, few days after a similar incident played out in Kogi State. According to political columnist, Prof. Farooq Kperogi, Buhari is showing signs of ‘dementia’ wrote as he shared the video. “Buhari slumped helplessly onto the couch. Recall how he also fell in Lokoja. I feel sorry for this man. His motor skills are weak, which is another tell-tale symptom of dementia”.
My mother taught me not to throw stones at cripples, but can you imagine that some fathers trained their children to aim for their heads. Some considered all these incidences as fun; many laughed and simply turned it to a party to feast from…whereas such should be condemned by all.
The knights who failed to protect their lords will definitely stay in vale where they belong. Many are of the opinion that President Buhari has no intention of vying for a second term but was coerced by the cabal in his Presidency. The cabals are bent on using any means necessary to achieve their aims despite public outcry.
Sagay tagged Buhari’s opponents as political dwarfs, stating that Buhari’s attendance at debates will only give relevance to the opposition. Imagine this statement “mere motivational speakers that have nothing to offer” that was how Prof. Itse Sagay adjective in qualifying the presidential debate slated for January 19th. Prof. Sagay who is Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) see no reason the president should consider it necessary to be in attendance, but many knew the main reason behind Buhari’s refusal.
What my Oga said at our editorial meeting about him and his Editor’s engagement at DSS’s office left many wondering what actually transpired at the dreaded DSS Chamber; though from all his narrations many knew he wasn’t divulging too much…that is the story for ‘pen pushers’, but as other citizen, our Minister of Information and his ministry need to education Nigerians on how to react to such, because more is to come….just a case of ‘when to be is about to become’.
The above poem reminded me of what a friend once told me about his duties as a government secret agent. His quote “guarding the executive is a really difficult task, but bursting criminal gangs is easy and better”. ‘Defending jargons’ will not be a bad topic recommended for all in these categories. As a trained journalist, I am doing my own, but many wondered how government agents and agencies would defend Buhari on this, because in the name of fake and hate speech, many had been invited by security agencies, but thank God I am not working with DSS or Police because they too don’t like what is happening except for few. And I am sure my Editor-in-chief must be happy to have come out of the ‘lion’s den’ unscathed. Truly, one mind can animate a thousand bodies, as this is clearly shown that human beings are like machines, great power in tapping into fantasies of the masses.
