How AbdulRazaq refuses LAK Jimoh’s pleas to end crisis in Kwara APC
...has abandoned legacies of past govt - Party chieftain *Says Kwara roads have become death trap under governor’s watch

A chieftain of All Progressive Congress, APC, who is also the State Assistant Treasurer, Alhaji Mohammed Kamal has said that the lingering rows in Kwara APC is festering by Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as all efforts to nip the crisis in the bud by elder statesman, Alh. LAK Jimoh proved abortive.
Kamal stated this yesterday while answering questions from National Pilot reporter in Ilorin, the state capital.
According to him, ‘all efforts have been made at bringing to an end the lingering crisis at the party by concerned Kwarans, but to no avail as the governor refused all pleas.’
“The most recent was an attempt by the elder statesman, Alhaji LAK Jimoh who knelt down and cried profusely before AbdulRazaq asking him to resolve the crisis so as not to allow this opportunity elude the people of Kwara.
“He begged him to sheath his sword and allow for peace to reign in the party so as to sustain the mandate and opportunity given to us by the electorates. All Jimoh’s pleas fell into deaf ear,” Kamal said.
He added that the governor who cause the whole crisis has remained adamant, saying if not until recent that the governor was allegedly said he would be ready for peace when the party’s Congresses finished.
“I do not see any hope of ending the crisis at sight someone who is closed to the governor recently told me that he has agreed to end the brawl as soon as the congresses end.
“AbdulRazaq went to see the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed towards bringing an end to the crisis. He asked the minister to forget the past. Lai Mohammed told him reach out to the party in the state, he refused to do so.
“He aligned himself with the party leaders at the national level, forgetting fact that if he is given ticket , he will still have to come home. The hope of reconciliation before the next election is very slim,” he stressed.
The APC chieftain alluded to the fact that though the governor has legitimate right to, as a citizen, vying for reelection, but his moral right to do, so is questionable.
“He has right to seek for reelection, it is the electorate that would determine that. What he has done that is worthy of reelection, I think he will tell us when elections come.
“Party loyalists that fought tooth and nail for his emergence are dying uncatered for. The late Rex Olawoye among those who suffered for Otoge. They were not rewarded including myself. I have been with the governor since 1998 when we were in PDP.
“Those who hail him on road constructions are just deceiving themselves. He did no road. The last administration constituency projects in Asa are still there for reckoning.
“He neither consolidates on the legacies of past government nor come up with his own designs. Where did he build the roads his stooges claimed he did. Maybe he built those roads in the sky,” Kamal queried.
