Kayode Babarinde, the Manager, Kay Motor Spray has attributed his sojourn into entrepreneurship to his humble background.
According to him, he dropped out of school because he could not afford school fees.
“As an indigent student whose parents were so wretched; living from hand to mouth, this affected my academic pursuit.
“I had no options than to embrace apprenticeship. My sojourn in the world of business has not been a bed of roses. I suffered a lot as an apprentice and served my master like a slave because it took quite a while to pay the required amount for my apprenticeship,” he said.
He explained that he trained as an apprentice for a period of one year, after which he had to do a join-man for another one year before he could raised N3, 000 to start his own motor spraying business.
“With N3, 000, I was able to procure a few tools and I had to rent spraying machine for a long period before I was able to get mine.
“But today, I thank God the story has changed from grass to grace. I started with barely nothing, but looking back today, I am fulfilled”, he added.
Kayode, however, advised Nigerian youth not to despise little beginnings.
“You must be nobody to become somebody. And we should never see any job as dirty”.
He said his type of business is well paying as one could realise the salary of a white collar employee in a day.
