Mr. Atimoe Sylvester is the Chief Executive Officer of Climax Advanced Studies. He attributed his business success to passion and ambition.
The dream to become an enterprenuer, he told Pilot Business, was nurtured right from his undergraduate days.
According to him, entrepreneurship remains the best and reliable job, saying โย I had made up my mind never to work for anyone since my days as a Mechanical Engineering student of the University of Ilorin.
‘After leaving the university, I had problem setting a A/Level coaching centre as the required capital to start the business then was too exorbitant for me to raise.
โWhen I was about to start, I did not even have N100 on me. I enrolled students despite that there were no school furniture.โ
According to him, โThe beginning was very rough. It was not rosy at all. But, along the way, God sent helper to me through my elder brother who gave me little amount of money.
โIt is all to the glory of God and the zeal that I can say brought me to this level of business. I remember I started with N200 which I used to make photocopies and handbill that I sent to Lagos in the form of advert.โ
He said surprisingly few days after students from Lagos started enrolling at his coaching centre.
Sylvester, therefore advised youths in the country to embrace entrepreneur as way out of poverty.
โLook for what you have passion for and invest more in it, surely you will become a celebrity.โ
