Elevation: Justice Ambali’s daughter speaks on academic journey

Nimat Dupe Abdulraheem, the daughter of renowned jurist, Justice Mutalib Ambali, said her journey to becoming a professor of Law at the University of Ilorin was not an easy task.
Speaking with our reporter during a special prayer organised in her honour and colleagues, on Saturday, Prof. Abdulraheem said, “I was elevated to the professorial cadre in the University of Ilorin, I just can’t say anything other than to thank God for crowning all our effort because it has been a long journey”.
Nimat, however appreciated her husband Malam Issa Abdulraheem and the entire Ambali family for their support and understanding from the beginning of her studies till she became a professor.
Speaking during the special prayer, the Chairman, Organising Committee, Alhaji AbdulSemiu Arikewuyo, said it was cheering to see Nimat surpass the achievements of her father in the academics even as he prayed that Allah will continue to lead her aright in her future endeavours.
Similarly, a cleric, Alhaji Muhammad Yusuf said, “When your children are soaring higher while you are still alive, it is a blessing and a symbol which shows that you are a righteous person.
In his remarks, the husband of Nimat, Malam Abdulraheem appreciated said, “We are here today to show appreciation to God because my wife has attained the climax of academics and we cannot thank our creator enough for how far she has come.”
Celebrated alongside Prof. Abdulraheem were; Abdulrasaq Abdulmajid Alaro, Ibrahim Abdulkadir Abikan and Ibrahim Yusuf Arowosaye who were also elevated to Professor of Law at the University of Ilorin.
The event which took place at Agbojulogun Mosque, Kamaldeen Street, Ilorin, had in attendance, the Kwara State Head of Service, Mrs Susan Dupe Oluwole, Justice Ayo Salami, MD/Editor-in-Chief, National Pilot Newspaper, Alh. Billy Adedamola, Alhaji Kutashi Omoda and Alhaji Ibrahim Gold, among others.
