Issa Aremu remains our candidate – Kwara LP

The Kwara State chapter of Labour Party last night insisted that Comrade Issa Aremu remained the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the governorship election in the state.
There have been recent reports that aggrieved governorship candidates from other parties who lost out in their party’s primary have sought to use other political platform including Labour to actualise their ambitions.
National Pilot confirmed that Prof Shuaib AbdulRaheem Oba at the height of his frustration with the APC over the governorship primary in the state contacted Comrade Issa Aremu over alleged partnership to prosecute the 2019 race.
However, the party’s secretary, Comrade Rotimi Ade Ajiboye has insisted that Aremu remained the candidate of the party, adding that there was no plan to substitute him.
Speaking with this medium last night on the issue, Ajiboye noted that the party has all what it takes to deliver in 2019 adding that a vote for Labour will lead to progress of the state in all ramifications.
This development is coming just at the December 1 date for the final substitution of candidates at INEC draws nearer.
“The candidates of the party in all positions, including the governorship will not step down for anybody. Labour party remains the best alternative in the state.
“As a party, we are not stepping down for any other candidate and we are independent on our own. Comrade Issa Aremu remains our gubernatorial candidate we are sure that come 2019, Kwarans will decide in our favour”, he added.
Also corroborating him, the chairman of the party, Comrade Mumini AbdulKareem Onagun in a telephone chat on the matter said activities are in top gear in the party in preparation for the 2019 election adding that everything is being put in place to ensure a smooth and successful campaign.
