Lagos Campaign Mayhem: Our members stabbed MC Oluomo – APC Spokesman

The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, has admitted that members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW)who clashed at the flag-off of the party’s campaign in the state and stabbed a factional leader of the union Musiliu Akinsanya (otherwise known as MC Oluomo) are members of the party.
Igbokwe, who confirmed that the hoodlums, who stabbed MC Oluomo, were engaged in a supremacy battle, wondered why they brought the fight to the campaign ground.
He stated this while reacting to comments on a Facebook post he made concerning the rally.
The APC chieftain, while thanking residents of Lagos in the post, said he had never witnessed such a massive turnout of supporters since he became the Publicity Secretary of the party in 2007.
“NURTW took their gang war to our venue, but thank God it was not worse. We are over comers,” he later added in a comment.
A Facebook user, Adeniyi Jones, who mentioned the names of some gang leaders, including late Small Jpron, tackled Igbokwe.
He said hoodlums in the NURTW were members of the party in the South-West; to which Igbokwe replied: “We are not denying they are our members, but must they take their struggle for power and supremacy to our campaign ground to endanger other people?”
Recall that no fewer than eight persons were reportedly injured during the rally, including three journalists who sustained gunshot injuries.
MC Oluomo is currently receiving treatment at the Eko Hospital, Ikeja.
The Police had declared another leader of the NURTW, Mustapha Adekunle, aka Seigo, wanted over his alleged involvement in the bloody clash.
Several people were on Tuesday reported injured in the violence, including three journalists who sustained bullet wounds after the hoodlums invaded the Skypower Ground Ikeja venue of the campaign with guns, daggers and other dangerous weapons.
Members of the party scampered for safety to avoid being hit by bullets being fired indiscriminately by the hoodlums, while security operatives tried to control the situation.
Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos; Idiat Adebule, his deputy; Babajide Sanwoolu, the APC governorship candidate in the state, and other prominent members of the party were escorted out of the venue.
