2019: Traditional chiefs must play leading roles in PVC sensitisation – Magaji Nda

The people of Kwara State have been enjoined to come out en masse and vote during the forthcoming general elections.
The Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Saliu Woru-Mohammed gave the charge Wednesday when he paid sensitization visit to the people of Gerewu village in Ilorin West Local Government Area of the state ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Alhaji Woru-Mohammed said traditional chiefs had roles to play in encouraging their subjects who participated in the voters’ registration to see the need of collecting their voters’ cards to make in order to discharge their civic responsibility.
The Magaji Nda urged the electorate to see the forthcoming general elections as a call to duty to better the lives of the people.
He implored the traditional chiefs to encourage electorate to actively participate in the exercise.
In his remarks, the Magaji of Gerewu, Alhaji Ibrahim Amosa said the programme is timely for the people of the community.
He appreciated Magaji Nda for the visit and promised the unalloyed support of the community to the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki.
Also speaking, the Youth leader in the community, Mallam Lawal Nurein-Omoyoruba called on state government to construct the road in the area to ease the movement of goods and services.
According to him, provision of basic social amenities such as electricity, road network, health-care centre will in no small measure improve the lives of the people.
