Inmates of the Mandala Maximum Prison, Ilorin were full of praises as the 2019 gubernatorial candidate of the United Democratic Party (UDP) in Kwara State, Adetunji Oyabambi, donated a power generating set to the facility.
Oyabambi gave out the 8.5KVA generator based on request by prison officials during the former governorship candidate’s visit to the facility. He had earlier donated toiletries, households items and pharmaceuticals to the inmates.
The Deputy Comptroller of Prisons, DSP Rapheal Jimoh who received the gift on behalf of the inmates expressed joy over the gesture, describing the act as service to humanity.
He added that it was timely, saying the community which the inmates are part of, will be better for it.
Recall that Oyabambi, during a welfare visit to the inmates of Oke-Kura and Mandala Maximum Prison in Kwara State, facilitated the release of five inmates by paying their fines.
