NGO trains 200 business owners, disable people on entrepreneurial skills
In a bid to enhance self reliance and reduce unemployment rate in the
society, a Non Governmental Organization Lifefount Foundation has
trained no fewer than two hundred business owners and physically
challenged people on different entrepreneurial skills.
The programme which took place at Kwara Hotel, Ilorin on Saturday had
seasoned entrepreneurial experts who enlightened the participants on
ways toward achieving business success.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the event the Co- Founder of
Lifefount Hospital, Dr. Yemisi Adeyeye stressed that the business
symposium which was tagged ‘Success Strategies’ is part of the
corporate social responsibility of the foundation to enlighten
segments of the heterogeneous society with the target of eliminating
extreme poverty in the country.
She said ” we discovered that many people have different plans to be
successful in life but lack the steps to execute such plans. We
decided to unveil stages that people need to know to achieve their
dreams.
“This particular edition is on business planning for 2020 year and we
are targeting end of next year for investors to start feeling the
impact of success through their businesses.
Dr. Adeyeye who is the convener of the programme revealed that the
training will expose the participants to assess where they are and how
to prepare their visions where they want to be in the nearest future.
“We have business experts here who will teach them practical steps
that they will deliberately take to get there.
“In this programme we have other guest speakers who will teach them on
how to use social media to make money, business funding through
accessing soft loans and grants and how to structure businesses.
One of the speakers, Mr. Sunday Adebello the Chief Executive Officer
of World Life Training Consultancy stressed that the main objective of
doing business is not to make money but solving a societal problem.
He said ” business needs motivation to form passion and add value to
the society. You need to create market segment for your products,
choosing the right business structure, level of assets, potential
sizes, proximity, growth potential,market expansion, product and
market development are necessary ingredients towards successful
business.
On her part, the Director of Leapworld Limited, Mrs. Funke Medun noted
that business have stages from existence, survival, growth to maturity
According to her there are some funding options for personal savings,
friends and families, grants and interest free loans to assist the
investors as capital.
Also, Mrs. Fabulous Julius a social media expert encouraged the
participants to avoid wasting their data for chatting but sale their
businesses to followers on Instagram, Twitter etc.
The Director of National Orientation Agency, Mr. Segun Adeyemi lauded
the foundation for its interest on education, health and
entrepreneurship.
The highlights of the event was awards of certificates 17 graduands of
Lifefount Institute in Social Impact, leadership and Business
development among women and youths.
