In this interview with JIMOH SULYMAN, the legal practitioner recalled his most memorable moment in the legal practice. Excerpt.

I have had my share of experiences in my few years of legal practice, I remember this case I was handling, a very interesting case, although the matter was a criminal matter but it involved husband and wife.

I was representing the wife. What happened was that, the husband was in the habit of beating his wife. One day, he badly beat his wife and he injured her eyes whereby he almost turn the wife blind.

My client (the wife) filed for criminal assault and the rest, in court I sternly opposed the bail application of the husband’s counsel and he was remanded.

Days later, his bail application was reviewed and so he was released thereafter. personally I felt really bad having someone sent to remand/prison under my watch particularly in a case involving family and relations.

The family members later intervened in to the case, the issues between the couple was resolved and they still remain married till today.
