Desire to excel made me go into business – CEO, Food and Nuts

For Ekemezie Paul, the desire to excel propelled him to go into business.
The Chief Executive Officer of Food and Nuts, said the fact that an average Igbo man go into business, made it easy for him to embrace the world of enterprise.
Head office of his enterprises is situated in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Speaking on apprenticeship he said:
“I served my boss for four years, with agreement that he will set me up after I gain freedom, which was the business idea and routing in Igbo entrepreneurship circle.
“At the beginning, things were not easy owing to the fact that one is almost like a slave while serving the master,” he further said.
Paul described his training period as challenging, which made him to be resolute on becoming successful in life.
“During the long time of servitude, we were subjected to lots of ill treatment but that did not deter me. But, looking back today, I thank God I ventured into this business.
“The business has expanded as I have branches across Kwara and beyond.
“I have several people working under me whom I pay salaries every month,” he added.
Ekemezie, however, advised people to start a business for financial development, noting that it is a path to success in life.
“It is true that you cannot become rich by earning salary. The rich and affluent in the world are people of great business ideas.
“Going to school is good, but engaging in businesses is lot better,” he stressed.
