IEDPU condoles Malami Ubandoma on dad’s demise
The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman,fsi, has commiserated with the Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin, Shaykh Abdulkadir Oba Solagberu, on the death of his illustrious father, Shaykh Muhammad Jumaah Solahudeen AbdulKareem.
Alhaji Uthman, in a statement signed by the Union’s Spokesman, Abubakar Imam, described the death of Shaykh AbdulKareem, who was the Imam of Olodo Mosque, Abayawo, Ilorin, as a huge loss not only to his family but also to entire Ilorin Emirate and the humanity at large.
The IEDPU President said that the death of the foremost cleric was particularly painful because it occurred at a time when the community needed his wisdom and wealth of experience more in view of the numerous challenges facing our society.
The retired intelligence technocrat, however, thanked Allah that the deceased lived a worthy life, which was dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and promotion of Islam, saying that the greatest contributions of the late Imam were peace-building and raising of distinguished scholars in the mould of the Malami Ubandoma and his brother, Shaykh AbdulRasaq Salman Solagberu, among many others, whose contributions to the development of Ilorin Emirate community and humanity at large can never be over-emphasised.
Alhaji Uthman urged the Malami Ubandoma, who is also the proprietor of the famous Darul Kitab Wa Sunnah College of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Gaa Akanbi, Ilorin, to take solace in the fact that his father did not only lived so well but also so long that he witnessed the transformation of some of his children to the status of statesmanship while one of them became an holder of one of the Ilorin Emirate’s most prestigious traditional titles.
While praying Allah to overlook the shortcomings of Shaykh AbdulKareem and rest his gentle soul in Al-Janat Fridouz, the IEDPU President prayed Allah to grant the Malami Ubandoma and other members of the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the demise of their father.
