NAFDAC begins implementation of Executive Order in Kwara

 

The National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has commenced stakeholders sensitisation on the implementation of the Presidential Executive Order for ease of doing business in Kwara State.

The Acting Director General of NAFDAC, Mr Ademola Magbojuri made the disclosure at a stakeholders’ forum held at Kingstone Hotel, Ilorin at the weekend.

He noted that the agency is a key government body in the implementation of Federal Government’s programmes and policies on MSMEs development.

According to him, the agency is taking steps to ensure products are registered in record time without compromising on quality and safety to public consumption.

The DG who was represented by the Zonal Coordinator of the agency, Mrs. Yeduni Adenuga stressed that they are committed to the growth of medium and small scale enterprises in the state and country at large.

She said “I wish to reiterate to you that lots of efforts have been made and are still being sustained in the areas of the Small Business Support Desk (SBSD). This guides smaller businesses through registration process and serve as enquiry point for them on regulatory issues.

“We also conduct NAFDAC Product Registration Outreach (NaPRO) to foster interactive engagement and provide regulatory support in terms of documentation, labeling and other requirements to facilitate the registration process.

Earlier, the Kwara State coordinator of the agency, Mrs. Rose Ajayi stated that in line with the present administration’s commitment to growing the economy through indigenous enterprises, NAFDAC will continue to assist local factory and industries boost their businesses in the state.

She said, “This interactive session is designed for all interest groups to seek clarifications on NAFDAC operations and reviews that is targeted towards promoting ease of doing businesses.”

Cross section of business associations, manufacturers and producers lauded efforts of NAFDAC in the state and promised to comply with its guidelines.
