The Kwara State Secretary to the Government (SSG), Dr Manman Jubril has been flown to India for further diagnosis and treatment over his protracted health issue, National Pilot can authoritatively report.
The health status of the SSG according a to top source in the government last night deteriorated of late after the plan to initially fly him abroad was stalled due to indisposition to the move by the government.
Speaking on the development last night on condition of anonymity because of its sensitivity, the source claimed that the SSG could hardly recognised people around him of late adding that he was accompanied on the trip by his “wife and two other persons”.
“The SSG was flown to India last week in the company of his wife and two other persons after complications from multiple life threatening conditions like hypertension, asthma and diabetes among others.
“He has been incommunicado for a while before they now decided to fly him abroad. He would have been flown outside the country more than two months ago but the governor was not initially disposed to the arrangement.
However, the situation was getting out of hand which warranted the latest move to fly him out to allow him undergo advanced treatment. But I can confirm to you now that Manman Jibril, the SSG of Kwara State is right now in India as we are speaking”, the source added.
Several calls to the SSG”s known mtn line for three days at different times which he had been contacted on and responded before to National Pilot in previous conversation returned switched off.
Similarly, efforts to get the position of the government on the issue proved abortive last night. When contacted, a highly placed authority in the administration directed this reporter to the Commissioner for Health, Dr Raji Rasaki who did not respond to calls seeking his reaction on the issue.
But his counterpart, the Commissioner for Communication, Mrs Harriet Afolabi-Oshatimehin when contacted initially claimed the network was poor. Subsequent calls to her line after rang out last night without any response.
The SSG who has been ill for some time now was reportedly admitted at Anchor Med Hospital, Tanke, Ilorin for treatment but later discharged and initially taken home before he was moved to one of the government chalets, it was gathered.
He recently confirmed in a telephone chat to this medium the plan to fly him abroad for treatment.
“I am feeling better now. My travel abroad is still in process, we are still on it”, he added.
