Ministerial: Kwara Assembly lauds Buhari Gbemi, Lai Mohammed nominations

The Kwara State House of Assembly on Wednesday at its plenary expressed gratitude to President Muhammad Buhari over the appointment of two indigenes of the state, Gbemisola Saraki and Lai Mohammed as Ministers.
The Speaker, Hon Yakubu Danladi said the action of the president shows his appreciation for the role Kwara played in his reelection adding that the nominations were well deserved.
House Leader Olawoyin Abubakar-Magaji raised the issue.
Meanwhile, the House has called on Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to direct the state Ministry of Health to create an isolated camp for trado-medical practitioners in the state where they can practice and attend to interested clients.
The House made the call in its resolution after adapting an observation to that effect moved by the House Leader, Olawoyin Abubakar-Magaji under personal explanation.
Abubakar-Magaji in his submission drew the attention of the House to what he described as indiscriminate sales and advertisement of traditional medicines in various parts of the state.
Some of the Lawmakers who contributed to the debate equally condemned the act and called on the House to take drastic action towards solving the problem.
The Speaker, Yakubu Danladi while reading the resolution of the house called on the state government to create an isolated camp for the practitioners for the sales and patronage of their interested clients.
The Lawmakers also called on National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to be alive to its responsibilities by regulating the activities of the broadcasting stations in the state with regards to advertisement of traditional medicine.
The House also called on the Association of Traditional Medical practitioners in the state to call to order some of their members involved in Mobile Advertising who constitute nuisance to the society.
The Speaker directed the House committee on Health and Environment to liaise with the state Ministry of Health on the need for drugs and medicine regulatory agencies in the state to be alive to their responsibilities.
