
A jurist and Islamic scholar, Retired Justice (Dr.) Salihu Oloruntoyin Muhammad, has urged Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to concentrate more on people oriented programmes where all the electorate would feel the impact of his administration after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking on the first year performance of Mallam Abdulraman, the jurist also called on Kwarans to give more support to AbdulRazaq government as it begins its second year in governance of the state.
Justice Muhammad, a former Grand Kadi in the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Ilorin noted that what the leaders needed is prayers and the support of the people at all times for them not to derail in their acts of governance.
He described the achievements recorded by the administration as modest as his government was able to touch most sectors and human endeavors across the state.
The jusrist urged the governor to particularly pay attention to the areas of agriculture, health, education, provision of infrastructure and creation of more jobs for the unemployed teeming youths.
Justice Muhammad who is an (Ambassador for Peace) in the United Nations commended the efforts of the government in addressing the global pandemic in terms of disallowing influx of travellers from neighboring states and urged the people to abide strictly by all the precautionary measures put in place and the advice of the health workers in terms of keeping social and physical distancing and washing of their hands as well as applying hand sanitizers regularly.
The jurist appealed to the people of the state to remain united and avoid any security breach or lapses but rather live in peace and be their brother’s keepers.
