Celebrities expected to be observing Ramadan fast

The Nigerian entertainment industry has quite a number of celebrities who are members of the Islamic family and they always deem it fit to identify themselves with the religion at any given time, especially during special occasions like, Ramadan.
Ramadan is the period of Muslim fasting which lasts for 30 days.
The 2019 Ramadan kicked off in the evening of Sunday, May 5 and will end in the evening of Tuesday, 4th June. Here are celebrities who will be living sacred life, devoid of sin in the next 30 days of the fasting.
Olamide: I know this comes as a surprise, but the ace indigenous rapper is a devout Muslim though he seldom identifies with the religion.
Olamide Ayodeji, Nigerian hip-hop artiste from Bariga, Lagos State is known for his indigenous raps that have gained him popularity over the years.
Born to a Muslim family, he welcomed his first son, Batifeori Maximiliano Adedeji in February 2016. His son’s naming ceremony was graced by the former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola and some other notable Muslim faithful.
Reminisce: Remilekun Kaleed Safaru aka Reminisce is one of the Nigerian celebrities that is expected to live a sacred life this Ramadan as he identifies with the Islamic religion.
The award-winning Muslim rap star is from Ogun State. In one of his interviews, the rapper e revealed the reason behind him choosing the name ‘Reminisce.’
“When I was going to choose a name, I was going to use my Muslim name, Kaleed but it didn’t sound hip-hop-friendly. I was looking for a name close to my first name, so I thought of “Reminisce” and it was cool.”
Sound Sultan: Olanrewaju Fasasi better known as Sound Sultan is a Nigerian born Muslim singer, is married to a Chichi Morahn who later converted to Islam. When asked in one of his interviews if he converted his wife to Islam, Sound Sultan stated that he never forced her to embrace Islam, but it was her love for the religion that made her to swap her religious belief.
In His words, “No one forces anyone to do a religion. It just happened that she married me and she really…really was in love with the religion herself.”
The award winning artiste is a U.N peace Ambassador, Oxfam Ambassador Africa and MTN Ambassador.
Eedris Abdukareem: Controversial Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdukareem is known for his hit album Jaga Jaga which was released in 2004, under Kennis Music. It’s title track, which laments the corruption and suffering in Nigeria, was banned from radio airplay by Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo in a televised address, although it continued to be played in nightclubs.
Eedris is a Muslim rapper, born to a polygamous family in Kano State and is expected to keep the next 30 days holy.
Liz Da Silva: The Nollywood actress reportedly dumped Christianity for Islam. In 2014, it was reported that Lizzy was dating a Christian, MC Oluomo, but later she left him for a younger Muslim man Olaoye. They got married and had a baby boy at the time.
Because of her son, who was named Roheem, she changed her religion. She converted to Islam and adopted the Muslim name Aishat.
Laide Bakare: After this Nollywood star divorced her Christian husband, she met a rich man from Lagos. His name is Alhaji Tunde Orilowo aka ATM. Because of the union, she converted to Islam and joined his fleet of wives.
Liz Anjorin: The beautiful actress who was born a Christian later converted to Islam. The actress who is considered one of the richest female artistes has travelled to Mecca for holy pilgrimage. She is expected to observe the fasting said to be one of the pillars of Islam.
