Dara recently dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) few months to the 2019 elections in the country to embrace the SDP to seek for its presidential ticket.
Dara confirmed the development to our reporter in a text message few weeks ago but did not provide reasons for the sudden switch.
However, political pundits have pointed to the issue that it may not be unconnected with the leadership crisis rocking the state chapter of the party between Iyiola Oyedepo and prince Sunday Fagbemi over who is the authentic chairman of the party.
The development is seen as a major blow for the PDP which has repeatedly failed to unite personal interests and individual aspiration of members of the party that has threatened to tear it apart.
In his response to the issue, Dara told National Pilot in a text message that he did not regret his decision adding he is sure of picking the ticket.
“Yes it is true that I have joined the SDP and seeking for the presidential ticket and I am hopeful that I will win. My aspiration is not just to complete the numbers”, he added.
