Kwara: Factional APC Gov candidate, Abdulrazaq undecided on implementing N30,000 New Minimum Wage

The factional All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is undecided about implementing the N30,000 new minimum wage to the state workers if elected as the governor.
It would be recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate, Barr. Razak Atunwa, had last week declared that his government will implement the new minimum wage if elected as the next governor of the state.
Atunwa in a statement signed by him said he is aware that the cost of living in Nigeria has quadrupled since 2015.
“Cost of basic food items, fuel, transportation, housing etc have skyrocketed. However, wages have remained stagnant in the same period.
“I have no hesitation whatsoever in saying if elected into office as Governor of Kwara State in 2019, I shall pay the N30,00 minimum wage,” he added that in addition, he is committed to workers welfare and working conditions.
However, in his reaction, AbdulRahman said he will wait till he is elected to take a decision if he will pay the new minimum wage or not.
The factional APC candidate according to an online publication- Royal news made this disappointing comment on the implementation of the new minimum wage during an illegal rally organised by his group at Pakata area of Ilorin, the state capital.
According to a political analyst ” this is indeed a very bad news and new year message to Kwara workers, their families and the entire people of Kwara state from a man who wants to govern them.
